Just the facts, he was rewarded the most prestigious international culinary competition FHA Culinary Challenge (FCC) gold medal in 2014 on top of his 2012 and 2008 rewards. He has cooked for Former President of Singapore Mr. SR. Nathan and Former Deputy Prime Minister Professor Jaya Kumar and various dignitaries and celebrities.
Not to mention his vast working experience in those reputable restaurants and hotels heading the kitchens for his highly commendable Indian cuisine, and all this was achieved at the age of 35! That is the story about Chef Satish, we got to agree he is notably to be one of the most gifted young chefs in Singapore today.
Zaffron Kitchen specialized in Northern and Southern Indian fine cuisine. With the Christmas is just around the corner, we have the opportunity to sample their Christmas Festive Menu. Of course, supervised and presented by Chef Satish.
We have tried three different types of soups.
Mushroom Soup
The soup was rich and creamy, delicious but all of us agreed the sodium seems to be at the high side though more expensive sea salt was used. It is best to go with the bread.
Pumpkin Soup
Rich and creamy with the taste of pumpkin essence packed in the soup.
Corn Soup
Another quality soup that you can fully enjoyed the sweetness and fragrance of the corn.
Chef sampler set
Chef Satish specially prepared sampler set that consists of three different types of bite size snacks. One word to describe – Lovely!
Shahi Turkey Biryani
Star of the night! The Turkey breast cubes marinated with yoghurt and freshly ground spices and cooked together with flavourful basmati rice and saffron. This dish obviously win all our hearts over and make all of us fall in love with it. Highly recommended and a must try dish at Zaffron Kitchen.
Tandoori Turkey Set
Perfectly roasted Tandoori Turkey served with herbs vegetable, chestnut filling and raisin pilaf. It really piques your taste buds.
Tandoori Malai Chicken Tikka
Another favourite from the Tandoor with tender Chicken Tikka marinated in yogurt and coriander and grilled to perfection.
Papadum
In plain or black pepper rolled, each has its uniqueness with the crispy and cracker-like starter. The black pepper papadum has a smoky flavour and nice but some may find it is at the saltier side.

Blueberry Chocolate Sliced Cake and Masala Bread and Butter Pudding
A good finishing for the meal of the night.
Our verdict, Chef Satish has undoubtedly glorified the Zaffron Kitchen to be a renowned dining place for Northern and Southern Indian fine cuisine. Highly recommended dishes are the Shahi Turkey Biryani, Tandoori Turkey Set, Tandoori Malai Chicken Tikka and of course our even favorite drinks Peach lassi and Mango lassi.
