Yaps Ipoh curry noodles @ Yishun Park Hawker Centre – Quite good Ipoh curry mee
My family was ravished by this new hawker centre surrounded by the many new food stalls, four of us straight off charging in different directions looking for what seemingly nice, soon filled the table with all the salivating food and Yap’s Ipoh Curry Noodle was just one of the picks.
The name Ipoh curry noodles has to be associated with the native Ipoh flavour and style, that’s what the owner who originated from Ipoh started the noodle business here.
Serving Ipoh traditional Ipoh curry noodle can be more complex with its more extensive ingredients used, eg. prawns, sotong, long bean, pig skin, sio bak and tau pok, compared to our local curry noodles that usually served only with Tau pok, fish cake or hard-boiled egg.
Yap’s Ipoh Curry Noodles can be served in soup or dry but with the amount of food already on the table, we had to exercise some restraints by just ordering the soup version.
The curry was creamy with tolerable spiciness, we like the rich and flavourful curry which was tantalizing to the taste buds, the many types of toppings provided additional layer of taste on top of the al-dente yellow noodle, we especially like the nice sio bak or roasted pork, somehow it gave the noodle the extra kicks.
There is no shortage of good food in this new hawker centre, Yap’s Ipoh Curry Noodles is certainly one of the good choices, not simply eating a bowl of curry noodle but an experience for a difference type of curry noodle come from the other side of the causeway.
