Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh 亞華肉骨茶
Honestly speaking, some other Bak Kut Teh shops here do serve equally good or comparable standard to the favorite Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh.
One of the obvious sign to determine a shop is good or so so, besides the crowd, just have a look at the walls the numbers of newspaper reviews, celebrities photos who patronized the shop as well as the awards displaying prominently all around, likely you will not go wrong.
The shop occupying a large floor area but most of the tables had already taken up by the local and foreigners even the clock hits the noon!
The peppery soup gives you an immediate “shiok” (greatly satisfied in local slant) feeling when slurping down the savory warm peppery soup. Just to highlight something important when eating Bak Kut Teh – drink the soup while it is hot (but careful don’t burn your tongue), you can’t appreciate the beauty of the soup if cold as it lost the most fulfilling characteristic favoring of the Bak Kut Teh that only present in the bowl of a hot soup, got it?
The soup here has more distinct pepper flavoring but it really blend well with the herbs and present a perfectly dish meeting all our every taste buds.
Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh Other Dishes
Other good dishes that you should not miss include:
Mian sian (thin noodles) with nice scallion and garlic garnishing.
Fish slice soap, the fish is fresh and soap is very tasty, of course, you can’t expect same good standard compared to those professional fish slice soap stalls in Singapore, however, it worth the try.
Braised Peanuts, Soft and crumbly, not bad.
Among all five picks, we all fall for this shop and given our best love to her. We remain her stalwart supporter.
