Tanglin Halt food centre may be small in size with less than thirty stalls in operation, however, you will be surprised there are some famous food stalls reside in this little food centre. Amongst all, Tanglin Halt Delicious Duck Noodle is definitely one of them, operating since 1969, the stall never needs to worry about bad business because the queue hardly vanished for a few minutes!
Duck Noodle Mee Soup version $3
We always opted for the mixture of yellow noodle and flat white kway Teow, it is not too monotonous in taste and give the overall noodle a more pleasing and balance texture. The soup has a mild herb taste but not overpowering, quite pleasant to the taste buds. The soup was the watery type and not the gooey type so it was less cloying, slices of braised duck meat and duck liver were added, the duck meat was tender and the liver slightly hard but chewy.
Duck Noodle Mee Dry version $3
The yellow noodle and flat white kway Teow were nicely cooked, the chili sauce was mixed with the braised sauce and went real well with the noodle. Similar to the soupy version, thinly sliced duck meat and duck liver were added to inject the extra flavour.
Overall, while we like about the soupy version, our preference choice is still with the dry version that come with chili, obviously the chili sauce has given the noodle the additional zest and flavour to the bowl of noodle.
Tanglin Halt Delicious Duck Noodle – it is the nostalgia taste that reminds us about the almost same duck noodle selling at the back alley in our childhood time simply because it is still that savory. Seriously, it is hard to find good duck noodle nowadays and if you are craving one, do head down to Tanglin Halt Delicious Duck Noodle.
