[CLOSED] Redhill Lor Duck Rice and Noodles Review

Redhill Lor Duck Rice and Noodles 红山卤鸭饭

The ageing population in this area is seemingly apparent with the old couple working only half the day daily and off three days in a week. How long will you be able to continue enjoying their duck rice is really up to one’s guess?

Redhill Lor Duck Rice and Noodles offers both rice and noodles, we decided to try it out before it becomes history.

Duck noodles 2.5 / 3.0

The noodle was a combination of kway teow and yellow noodle, and the sauce was a mixture of chili and homemade sauce, plus a few slices of duck meat made up the bowl of duck noodle.

Taste wise was insipid and featureless, the slices of duck meat was dry and texture was not refined as what we expect. Seriously, we cannot appreciate it as a good bowl of duck noodle.

Duck rice 2.5 / 3.0

We opted for the yam rice, it is one of the better one we have tried so far. Rice texture may be mushy but the fragrance of the yam is distinct and able to entice your appetite.

Similar to the duck noodle, the deboned braised duck meat is somehow missing the juiciness and the aroma of a good herb braised sauce.

Our verdict

Their food are usually sold out way before 2pm, the queue was consistent present in front of the stall. There is definitely a good pool of fans for Redhill Lor Duck Rice and Noodles. However, besides the beguiling yam rice, we have a different opinion of what was delivered by Redhill Lor Duck Rice and Noodles. Maybe we went on a bad day?
