The Chinese name 吃茶三千 is a reflection of the refinement with CHI CHA San Chen series of bubble tea on the menu, literally meant choosing the best out of the best. 

More than 200 stores already in operation in Taiwan and China, Chi Cha San Chen has its first Singapore outlet officially opened on 14 May at 313@Somerset.

There is no shortage of bubble tea shops in Singapore, most of the bubble tea in Singapore have the tea brewed in advance and with a measuring cup to get the right ratio and just mixed with other ingredients for a cup of bubble tea. 

However, Chi Cha San Chen makes the bubble tea in a very different manner from the competitors, Chi Cha San Chen adopted the coffee expresso brewing technique which all orders are brewed to order using a grinder and Teapresso machine, the process is fairly similar of brewing a cup of expresso, the tea leaves are preciously measured, ground to powder and brewed using the Teapresso machine, produced a cup of more consistent, aromatic, fragrant and memorable bubble tea.

Chi Cha San Chen prides itself on using only premium ingredients and some of the tea leaves harvested from their own tea plantation in Taiwan Lishan. The tea leaf available on the menu are Green Tea, Pouchong Tea, plain Black Tea, Osmanthus or Dong Ding Oolong Tea and Black tea or Cassia Black Tea.

You can customise your own tea, from sugar level to specific combination of tea base, flavours (Honey/fruits) and toppings (Bubble/coconut jelly/Grass jelly/Konjac Jelly). Most popular items are the Bubble milk tea ($4.20), High mountain Pouchong tea with lemon juice ($4.20), Dong Ding Oolong fresh milk tea ($4.70), Fruit tea ($5.00) and Cassia Black tea with mousse ($4.70)

Fresh Milk with Brown Sugar Bubble ($5.00)

Fresh milk with Brown sugar and bubble, the brown sugar was fragrant, not the low quality brown sugar found in some of the bubble tea brands which pure sugary sweet and missing the unique nice brown sugar’s flavour, we too like the not too sweet taste and overall a perfect combination with the fresh milk for a cup of lovely drink. (4.5/5.0)

Bubble Milk Tea ($4.20)

Black tea with cream and bubble. The black tea was smooth and do not have the astringent or (siap siap) aftertaste that lingering on the taste buds, you can truly appreciate the fragrant of the black tea and thanks for the not overwhelming cream to keep the cup of bubble tea a pleasant in every sip. Dong Ding Oolong and Fresh Milk. The teapresso brewing technique helped to bring out the flavour and scent of the Oolong tea leaves, fresh milk added another level of flavour and a refreshing and flavourful drink overall.

We opted for Bubble or tapioca pearls as topping which has a superior texture in general compared to the competitors which tend to be hard and tough when bite.

Besides serving the popular bubble tea, premium tea leaves are also available for purchase to the discerning tea connoisseurs whom appreciate good quality Chinese tea.

CHI CHA San Chen is trying to redefine the conventional bubble tea to the next level through precision on-the-spot freshly brewing process using technologies, coupled with quality ingredients and quality control, in the end, you can truly appreciate the art of a good bubble tea and the passion behind to deliver the best in the cup.
