Fatty Weng Fish Soup 肥仔荣食摊
There used to be a famous Fatty Weng restaurant around the Guillemard Road that serves Chinese Cantonese cuisine. Not sure if both are related since both carry the same name of Fatty Weng.
The wait is generally long during peak hours, as usual, we ordered the sliced fish soup for it healthier choice. The soup came with fish slice, tofu, tomatoes slice, shredded vegetable and salted vegetable, topped with fried ikan Bilis or Anchovies. The soup was tasty and with the right sweetness, however, the quantity of the fish slice was a little pathetic compared to KangLi fish soup at Jurong East. The fish was fresh and luscious with the right texture, but unfortunately the fish skin was not removed and that made the fish slice tasted fishy. Understandably, it may be too troublesome to have the fish skin removed from the fish but for the foodies, it is exactly the extra meticulous efforts enable them to differentiate themselves from the competitors, this is something we are looking for when come to good food.
