Dzerts Café Part II
Due to numerous requests, we decided to head back to Dzerts Café once again to give them a second shot and try out more of their items!
Lemon Meringue Tart ($5.00)
This was our favourite, with the tart being crispy and rather fragrant, the lemon curd blended very well with the fluffy and mildly sweet meringue, we have to say this was rather addictive!
Matcha Latte Cake ($5.00)
Matcha mousse on the cake was very fragrant, although simple, it was good! The mousse tasted rather similar to what you will get at Starbucks if you ordered a green tea latte, but it was in a form of a cake. This slice of cake although looks deceivingly small, it is best meant for sharing as it might get a little cloying after a few mouthfuls!
Bert’s Waffle with Vanilla Ice Cream ($8.90)
Waffle was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a mild milk fragrance. Unlike most waffles out there that are salted, this one was slightly sweet which rested will on our taste buds. Vanilla ice cream was nothing fancy.
Blondie with Vanilla Ice Cream ($6.00)
The Blondie is known as the “girlfriend” of the Brownie, whereby white chocolate is used instead of dark chocolate. It was crispy on the outside with the usual brownie texture on the inside. It was a little too sweet to our liking. The Blondie had a very crispy and burnt outer layer to give it a little burnt smell and a bit of an edge otherwise it would just be one extremely sweet cake. The caramel sauce went rather well with the Blondie and the vanilla ice cream, although you might want to take note that my brother said it “tastes a little like Chinese New Year’s Fa Kueh”.
