Brothers Ramen @ Singapore International Plaza – Worth the visit
The passion of the reman noodles inspired the Cai brother to create of their own reman, Brothers Ramen – a Japanese restaurant that serve freshly made in-house ramen noodle with a special soup base that made with pork, chicken, fish and vegetables, it is the house speciality – BROTHERS RAMEN that is to be proud of it and the signature dish here.
Located in International Plaza, an ideal location in CBD area and just right next fo Tanjong Pagar MRT, the air-conditioned restaurant is popular among the working class around here for the bowl of ramen prepared by the local chefs.
The variations may not be too extensive on the menu but Brothers Ramen do rolled out limited editions of new dishes periodically to provide the customers with some fresh choices to spur the appetite.
For every main ordered, there is complimented free flow of bean sprouts and mashed potatoes as the sides, do give the mashed potatoes a try, it may look pale but surprisingly full of flavour.
We tried the signature Brothers Ramen, Chashu ramen and Bellymen. The base broth is the same and that was made with pork, chicken, fish and vegetables, you can opt for spicy ($1.0 more) or non-spicy, both tasted equally umami for its rich and succulent flavour.
The house-made medium thick ramen was nicely done and cooked to perfect texture, the noodles were firm but chewy, together with the delectable toppings and you can surely indulge in a bowl of tantalising ramen.
Brothers Ramen $12.9 ($15.9 for add on egg and drink)
Topped with chicken and chashu slices, there was quite a lot of depth in the meat, the tender slices of melty meat was nice and flavourful, a good pairing to the bowl of ramen.
Spicy Chashu Ramen Set $17.9 (with egg and drink)
Similar to the Brothers Ramen but with the additional chilli oil to the broth, topped with Chashu, chicken and Japanese onsen egg. The chili oil added another layer of flavour and excitement to the taste buds, bearable spiciness and well-like for those who like the extra kick in the broth.
Spicy Bellymen Ramen Set $16.9 (with egg and drink)
Similar to the Brother Ramen with additional chilli oil to the broth, topped with pork belly, dumpling and a Japanese soft boiled egg. The well-braised wobbling pork belly quivering beneath the chopsticks as you picked up the meat, giving the perfect luscious taste in every bite with the nice sweet savory succulent meat.
Wantons (6 pcs) $5.0
Chicken wantons in homemade chilli oil and black vinegar, it was acceptable but some rooms for improvement to give it a more lasting impression on the taste buds.
We sense the passion of the Cai’s brothers in the bowl of ramen, Brothers Ramen may not be a big name among the many famous ramen eateries around, however, it is a local ramen establishment by the local young chefs serving good quality ramen that certainly deserves our continuous support.
