Bistro Soori @ Enhanced Gastronomic Experience
Bisto Soori is situated between Tanjong Pagar and Chinatown, an area clustered with numerous cafes, restaurants and coffeeshops. The huge arrays of food eateries are so tempting that we just wish our stomachs are bottomless to venture all the cafes there.
Bistro Soori has a contemporary setup modeled after the modern European restaurant concept, the primarily white color furniture and wall immerse as bright and elegant, it’s the coziness and warmth brought by the concept envisioned like an inviting space, given the idyllic setting a feel of sentimental touch.
Bistro Soori has a special VIP room for occasions like solemnisation, small gathering or for a romantic dining with the special one. The room featured complete blackness all round, a chic marble table and associate furniture with crystal chandeliers adds perspective and ideally designed for private solemn occasions.
Bistro Soori serves up French cuisines positioned themselves at the medium to high end segment. We are thankful to Jasmine for the invitation allowing us to experience this fine dining.
Foccacia bread and cheese
Toasted foccacia bread with cheese spread.
Slow Roasted Pork Belly, Roasted Pumpkin, Yuzu gastrique, Arugula $18
The roasted pork belly was tender and juicy, the pungent of the porky smell was a little distractive and it has to be masked by the Yuzu gastrique, else it was a starter fairly well done.
Seared Tuna Wrapped with Bean Skin, Wasabi Mayo, Tobiko, Shiso Sprout $16
We like the Crimson red tuna that wrapped with bean skin, the tuna was nicely seared and lovely cooked to perfection.
Stewed beef with mashed pototoes, fresh mushroom, vegetable
Good and delicious stewed meat involved long hours of work and the right ingredients to perfect a dish meeting the needed piquant perspective and tenderness.
Bisto Soori can be proudly acclaimed the master of this dish. Melt in your mouth stewed beef and the alluring seasoning gave you no room for critics.
Baked Chilean Seabass, Crushed Pototoes, Baby Spinach, Shimeiji, Soy Glazed $38
Chilean Seabass is always our top favorite fish for its fatty, creamy, juicy and the unique sweetness of the snowy white meat. The fish was fresh, pan fried to attain slightly charred on the surface and retained the tenderness and juiciness of the meat. “Good leh!” “Nice!” Affirmative comments on the great dish kept popping up while we were tucking in the dish.
Chocolate Lava Cake, Berries Sauce Vanilla Bean Ice Cream $15
The Lava cake was served with vanilla ice cream, rich and flavourful chocolate encrusted the molten lava which was thick and creamy. It was a perfect companion with the vanilla ice cream.
Baked Vanilla Sponge with Fried Pecan, Salted Caramel Sauce, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream $13
Baked Vanilla sponge has a welcoming zing that was flavourful and alluring, it also complemented well from the fried pecan and the salted caramel sauce. Of course, the vanilla ice cream helped to perfect the dessert by adding another dimension to the well executed sponge cake.
Our verdict, sipping the glass of fine Champagne and tucking in the fine food at Bistro Soori was truly a great enjoyment. The slight hefty in the price could well be balanced by the great food and the nice ambience.
Bistro Soori has lining up a new dinner menu from April 2015 onwards to the patrons.
