Beach road Nasi brayani – Koothurar restaurant
The most puzzling thing about this coffeeshop’s stall is that it has no signboard and nowhere one’s could tell what is the name, we may think it is no good for a business without a name but honestly speaking, the stall probably would’t be bothered too much with its no name strategy, the overwhelming long queue is good enough to keep the business alive, the no name strategy is actually worked well here. (After some research, the stall do have a name but not too well known by the public, it is called Koothurar restaurant, so it is a “restaurant” in a coffeeshop’s stall!)
The serving size seems to be quite generous when we scanned around those who was dining in, my wife suggested to share one plate and i have no qualms about it but a little surprise with her usually prodigious appetite.
We ordered the chicken biryani that came with a big portion of curry chicken, curry masala and achar or pickled vegetables.
the biryani rice was fluffy and amazingly fragrant, the nice aromatic of the ghee for the buttery richness and further enriched by the aromas and flavours of the spices simply made the rice divinely enticing to the tastebuds. chicken was equally flavourful, tender and absorbed all the essence from the spices, delivered the right savouriness to compliment the aromatic basmati rice. (4.3/5.0)
“Dear, next time we should order one plate each, not shiok enough to share one.” Wife was contemplating for a repeat order but dropped the idea discouraged by the long queue. Well, isn’t that the best testimonial and verdict for this no name stall? I don’t think there is a need to elaborate more the standard of the brayani here.
