Balestier Road Hoover Rojak – Best Rojak ? 豪华罗惹
Balestier Road Hoover Rojak – a name too familiar to those who love Rojak. One of the key anchored stalls at Whampoa Market Place, the stall started the business near the now closed Hoover Theater at Balestier Road, for years, it popularity has gone far beyond its present location. Some of the copycat stalls have seen sprouting out in other food centres citing famous Whampoa Rojak.
Hoover Rojak consists of cucumber, pineapple, turnip, taupok (deep-fried puffy beancurd), you tiao (deep fried dough fritter), jellyfish, ginger flower buds and raw mangos. The shrimp paste dressing is mixed with Assam (Tamarind) and sugar, topped with dash of finely chopped peanuts, coriander and lettuce leaves. Freshness of the ingredients is one of their selling points, on top of the use of best quality shrimp paste and the well balance flavourful sauce. It blended extremely well with the fruits and vegetables and created such a pleasing combination that is divine and zesty to the taste buds.
Hoover Rojak perhaps is the only one uses jellyfish as part of the ingredients, century egg can also be requested for additional cost. Whatever the combination, Hoover Rojak will not disappoint you; it is just a great satisfaction for tucking the plate of delectable and salivating rojak.
Overall, there is not so much of fault you can find with Hoover Rojak, in summary, we can only conclude that Hoover Rojak is one of the best or perhaps the best rojak in Singapore. Don’t believe? Try it and share with us your thought.
