Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu 百年酿豆腐 @ Chai Chee Road : Review
A real good yong tau foo, besides the use of quality ingredients, features a soup with the perfect sweetness and flavour, and complemented by good chili and sweet dipping sauce.
It is hard to find one that fulfils these requirements but we are glad that Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu is probably one of the few rare yong tau foo in Singapore that can meet that standard.
Every piece of yong tau foo from Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu is made with passion and at a high standard. Though each bowl comes with a standard selection (you will not be given a choice of ingredients), you will not be disappointed with what is served.

Yong Tau Foo charged at $4.50 for a standard assortment & $5.50 for extra pieces.
Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu provides you the wow effect in every bite of their masterpiece; you can truly appreciate everything in the bowl. Soup is light but full of flavour in every sip, no MSG added and yet superior in taste.
At Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu, each bowl contains bouncy prawn balls, bitter gourd stuffed with meat paste, fried meat roll wraps, chunks of pork meat with black fungus, plain beancurd and a helping of bee hoon. Each of these ingredients boast a great emphasis in quality.
Fried Chicken Wings : 4 for $6.00 OR 6 for $8.00
Besides the palatable bowl of yong tau foo, do not miss out on the fried chicken wings from Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu. The chicken wings and the chicken drumlet or lollipop are well marinated and freshly fried when ordered. Boasting perfectly crisp fried skin, the offering of fried chicken wings may seem to be contrary to the presumably healthy yong tau foo, however, we know it is hard to resist an order of this delectable snack.

Cholesterol? Let’s worry later.
Do take note so far the Chicken wings set only available at Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu’s Chai Chee branch. So head down there if you would like to experience some real good chicken wings.
Our verdict
Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu deserves to be considered one of the best yong tau foo in Singapore. Quality and meticulous in each piece of work, it should be the new defined standard and benchmark for all good yong tau foo. And hang on…don’t forget the wings and lollipop drumlets, it is just irresistible.
