Angel Horse Teochew Fish Soup catches our attention for the perpetual queue in front of the stall during our many visits there; passing by the stall to the upstairs of the food centre is where we shop for our daily kitchen condiments as well as all the dried food for our kitchen needs.
Angel Horse Teochew Fish Soup has a big fridge right in front of the stall showcasing the freshness of the materials used e.g. Fish and vegetables. At least that ensure the freshness and provides some assurance to the quality of the ingredients used.
We ordered a $4 and a $5 portion to check on the differences.
The serving comes with slices of Mackerel fish, a better fish to be used for fish soup, tofu, seaweed, tomatoes and sprinkle of shallot and coriander. The soup has a tingle of sweetness but the flavour will not able to create a deep impression on us; several other fish soups have better broth than Angel Horse.
The Mackerel fish slice were fresh and perfectly cooked, however, the quantity was quite miserable for a $4 serving, what we have was a mere four to five slices of fish. Even the $5 serving was just another one to two slices more.
Our verdict, Angel Horse Teochew Fish Soup is something fairly ordinary, it will not disappoint you too much but also nothing to shout about.
