Looking Into 51 Soho

You see, 51 Soho has one of the best interiors of all the places I’ve been to.

I mean, come on! 51 Soho – it’s chill, you get quality service, and you get good food! Like I say in some of my blogs, you don’t always get that opportunity of getting everything relaxing when you dine.

Sometimes, classy places make your pockets hurts, chill places aren’t always clean and good food doesn’t always mean healthy food. 51 Soho is on the right path to creating its name – and, I am going to be one of the people who say they deserve it!

The 51 Soho interior has this really rich rustic feel, and I think “rustic” places are the best for relaxing and chilling and enjoying good drinks and food.

One of my favorite seats are the ones facing the bar. You can just get the whole view of the bar, the nice lighting, and it just reminds me of being in the Wild Wild West. It’s sort of like a blast back in time.

Warm colors have this way of giving the mind the impression that it’s at a certain place for relaxing. In my honest opinion, dining at 51 Soho has been relaxing for me so far. I always have this feeling that I am on vacation whenever I am here – and, thank goodness for weekends. Weekends mean I can stay for as long as I want and not rush back to work.

The atmosphere at 51 Soho is like being surrounded with people of the same likes and interests. And, yes, one of these interests may be drinks and food – who goes to a restaurant and want something else?

My main point is… Dining at 51 Soho is like calming a storm, and being with people who also want the same thing. I am sure I am not the only one who thinks 51 Soho is one of the best places to unwind and de-stress after a stressful week at work.

For the best part, they have been very accommodating and friendly with all their guests. I haven’t really encountered otherwise. Check them out yourself at 51 Telok Ayer, Singapore! It’s one of the best locations to find the food you’ll definitely love.

What To Try At 51 Soho?

One of the best things about 51 Soho is that they are not just serving wholesome food. They are also serving healthy and nutritious food! It is important to remember that while we may be food lovers, not everything we want are healthy for us. We still need to make sure we are healthy, yeah?

This is why 51 Soho is one of my favorite to-go places when I still want to eat good food while being healthy.

At 51 Soho, they have the Pan Seared Chicken Breast (S$15.90). The best thing about this dish is everything on the plate is healthy. It has cauliflower and nicely softly prepared sweet potatoes.

It may not be obvious that I am a vegetable kind of person, but I do appreciate vegetables more than you think. I just happen to not be one of the people who like their vegetables too soft and soggy. The vegetables that are on the plate with the pan-seared chicken breast is not overcooked or undercooked – that I can say. That’s why I love this dish, and I am recommending it to all of you.

You all know how much I do not miss out on pasta, right? But, this time, I gave in to a friend’s recommendation. I would usually go for a Mushroom pasta or a really meaty options – for my everlasting love of meat. This time, I went for the most recommended Aglio Olio Prawn Pasta.

Even if this isn’t my favorite pasta, let me give this a 4 out of 5. Well, I would give it a five – but, it’s not my favorite pasta! Ha-ha. Kidding aside, I am giving it a 4 out of 5 because I think the prawns didn’t absorb the seasoning well. Let me clear this up – the prawns were really fresh, but it tasted like it was just fried.

Thankfully, there was fried garlic and the flavor of the Aglio Olio (S$18.00). They gave flavor to the prawns. If not for them, the prawns would be just that… Fried prawns. But, it was a good dish, regardless of this. It all goes down to preferences sometimes. Still recommendable, 51 Soho!

This might just be one of the best things with 51 Soho – their Braised Pork Belly (S$22.00)! Just look at that perfectly marinated and seasoned and cooked pork belly! If a room in heaven was a dish, this would be one of them!

And, one of the best things about this dish is they put sesame seeds! To be honest, I would eat anything with sesame seeds on them. And, the sesame seeds were a perfect compliment to the sweet and spicy braised pork.

Another great choice at 51 Soho are their brilliant skewers! I do not know anyone who doesn’t love grilled food. I love grilled food, from pineapples to carrots to all the best meat you can think of – and 51 Soho just happen to be one of my favorite flavors in Singapore.

The meat is not bland, you can tell how tasty the meat is all to its core. You can also tell that they did season the beef and pork skewers to cook with that out layer, causing one of the best aromas to grill anyone’s plate.
